Our Story
The Malt Cross Trust was founded as a Christian charity in 2003 by a group of city centre churches with a shared vision of improving Nottingham’s Night Time Economy.
Our home is a Grade II listed former Victorian music hall that we preserve as one of the last remaining music halls in the country. We stay true to the original intention of the music hall era with our diverse programme of live music and entertainment for the people of Nottingham.
The Malt Cross music hall has gratefully received two Heritage Lottery Funding grants in 1997 and 2013, which have been vital in supporting us to preserve our site and share our story.
In 2018, we became part of Nottinghamshire YMCA and their executive leadership team act as the board of the Malt Cross Trust. Our licensed Bar & Kitchen is not-for-profit and donates all its operational surplus back into the work of the Nottinghamshire YMCA family group.
The Malt Cross Trust is a registered charity (no. 1058559) and a limited company (no. 4923936).
